I've been at home for two days instead of Bookmarks, my bookstore, because of a storm system the meteorologists labeled thundersleet. Northern Missouri got the snow, southwest Missouri got the sleet. Wind and a continuous wall of metallic gray clouds settled over us and what I thought was hail was actually sleet. From 5 am until 2 pm sleet came down like rain, which left us with a 4 to 5" coating on frozen ground. Hard enough to walk on without sinking in, slick enough to skate across.
Temps are supposed to reach the 50s and melt most of the hard-coated ground. But today I've enjoyed being with Reese and Ethan, main characters in Charades. We got to know each other better and they're eager to meet you. Should be able to do that in a couple of weeks!
