A word that, to my ears, is imbued with the properties of what it actually is. Tranquility. Peacefulness. I don't know if the serene feeling comes from the actual word or if what the word symbolizes brings on the serene feeling....one of those, hmmm thoughts that distract me pretty much every day. Par exemple....if you switched the words 'lake' and 'pickle' so they labeled the other thing, would the pickle give you a feeling of serenity just because it's called a lake? And would you look at a lake and feel calm and at one with nature when you said, "Oh! What a beautiful pickle!!"
Onward. I love lakes. Why? Because they are large receptacles of water and I have a great affinity for water. Big watering holes, little watering holes and fountains, any size. If you tune into this blog channel every Tuesday then you know this about me already, but if you're a first-timer you wouldn't and now you do.
There are zillions of lakes in the world and many of them have fascinating shapes. I put together a small collection of some here on the North American continent.

Beautiful, isn't it? You have to get to over 6700 feet elevation to see it....
