the final post of 2016, shorter and not as sweet as last week's. Thank you for tuning in all year!
There's a quote from Will Rogers, (1879-1935), American writer, humorist and actor that got me to thinking about the impending New Year and the springboard for the oh so popular Resolutions. Here it is:
"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there."
Rogers' version of "Just Do It", the Nike, Inc., trademark slogan.
"The greater danger for most of us isn’t that our aim is too high and miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.”
"A goal is a dream with a deadline."
Napoleon Hill, American author
(several people have been credited with saying this one)
"The first step is one on which depends the rest."
Voltaire (1694-1778), French writer.
"Begin with the end in mind."
Stephen Covey, American educator, businessman, and author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
And here's an especially favorite one of mine:
"Press on. Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."
Ray Kroc, founded McDonald’s System, Inc., a predecessor of the McDonald’s Corporation
